Waters, Roger

Roger Waters was born on September 6, 1943 in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He is a composer and actor, known for Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982), The Squid and the Whale (2005) and The Big Boss (1971). He was previously married to Laurie Durning, Pricilla Phillips, Carolyn Christie and Judy Trim. In 1965, he co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Waters. Waters initially served as the bassist, but following the departure of Syd Barrett in 1968, he also became their lyricist, co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader until he departure from the band in 1983. In 1990, Waters stagged one of the largest rock concerts in history, The Wall - Live in Berlin, with an attendance of 450,000. He was inducted into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
